What does it look like when a Dev stands on the podium?
Today, let's find out the story of a coder who has been passionate about programming throughout his youth and
later being a teacher!
Though completely different from his youthful appearance, Mr. Chu Van Quy, the CTO of JVB Vietnam Joint Stock Company, is a very determined person in his work. After graduating from the University of Engineering and Technology, he started to work in the programming field. He underwent a period of training, learning, and working at various reputable programming companies in Hanoi and spent a whale of time working in Japan. In 2013, he, along with his friends, who now is in the leadership team of JVB, returned to Vietnam. They embarked on a start-up journey, building and developing JVB Vietnam into the strong company it is today.
Throughout development, JVB not only focused on its customers but also emphasized investing in human capital.
The company showed a keen interest in expanding relationships and collaborations with universities in Hanoi, such
as Hanoi National University of Natural Sciences, University of Transport and Communications,
Hanoi University of Science and Technology, University of Greenwich, and so on.
JVB took part in numerous activities such as career orientation, sponsorship, events from universities, training,
and guiding interns to complete their internship projects, ect.
Since 2020, JVB has been entrusted with the responsibility of teaching the course "Web Programming" by the Faculty
of Information Technology at the University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University. It was time that Mr Quy
started getting into teaching.
As Mr. Quy shared, "The first time I stood on the lectern, I was as nervous and excited as I was holding my lover’s hands. At the beginning, I felt that time flew so fast while there was so much knowledge to convey. After that, I realized the limited time in the classroom, so apart from focusing on the lecture, I had to deliver concisely, understandably, and interestingly to capture the students' attention. After I put every effort into it, the students' learning enthusiasm has been greatly improved. The classroom atmosphere became more lively, and there were more interactions between the teacher and students. When the semester ended, the students achieved high results in this subject, making me very happy and motivated to improve myself, fulfilling the task entrusted to me. Teaching is challenging but fascinating as well. I hope the university will continue to trust and assign JVB to teach more programming-related courses in the future!"
Even though the work at the company occupies most of his time, Mr. Quy has managed his remaining time to read more materials, accumulate more knowledge, and develop pedagogical skills to fulfill the assigned task since taking on the teaching job for the department. Huyen Trang and Quoc Hung are two colleagues who supported Mr. Quy in his teaching. Huyen Trang is a former student of the Faculty of Information Technology at the University of Natural Sciences, a small girl with strong determination and decisiveness in her work, managing a team of about 30 members. Quoc Hung, a mature and friendly young man, is well-liked by all students. According to them, when they prepared lesson plans, and shared knowledge with students, they found it very enjoyable as they could help these students build a solid foundation before leaving the university.
Like Mr.Quy's sharing, the management team and employees of JVB also hope to have more opportunities cooperating with the University of Natural Sciences and other universities in the area. We look forward to sharing experience, learning from each other, and contributing to the development of career paths!
